CAMERON WAS A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE IN THE CLASS OF 2014. UNFORTUNATELY, HIS DREAMS WERE SHATTERED WHEN HIS LIFE WAS ENDED BY SENSELESS VIOLENCE ON OCTOBER 22, 2015.

Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?

To be eligible, you must be a current high school senior residing in Shelby County, Tennessee. You must also have a completed application packet submitted by the deadline.

Do I need to be accepted into a college yet?

Yes. You must provide a copy of your College Acceptance Letter from the institution you plan to attend.

How much is the scholarship award?

The organization will announce a specific number of finalists. Each selected finalist will be awarded a scholarship of $1,000.

When will the winners be announced?

We will be hosting a special announcement event to honor our finalists. Specific details regarding the date and location of this event are coming soon—stay tuned to our website and emails for updates.

Is there a minimum GPA requirement?

Yes. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). You will need to submit your high school transcript as verification.

What are the requirements for the essay?

We want to hear your voice. You must write an essay of at least 500 words answering the following two-part prompt:

  1. Share your thoughts on gun violence and how it has become an epidemic in our city.

  2. Explain how you can become a champion and take a stand against gun violence.

When is the application deadline?

All materials must be submitted by March 28, 2026.
